This conversation happened in Twitter Spaces a couple days ago in front of 400 people. Sharing so it's easier to understand what I have to deal with every other day.

Just walked out of the Spaces again after trying to explain what happened last night and getting muted.
- Yes, I CAN say that 140m russians are guilty of #GenocideOfUkrainians. And I will. Because they are.
- Telling a Ukrainian person about the suffering of russians under putin's rule is a disgrace. You'll never see me in their spaces again. Just for the record, how many termobaric rockets have fallen on russian civilians recently for me to worry about them?

a man calls me all this. He's not interrupted a single time, I maintain composure while being called names and him yelling all sorts of abuse.

2/ They're literally at loss for words. It's an insult to actual animals to even call rashists "animals". And their families back home know everything and are cheering to that. While we listen about concerns re "russophobia" in every second Twitter Spaces/news articles.

One thing Putin has NOT been wrong on is his own people. They are just as meek, beaten down and obedient as he thought they would be. Sanctions, hardships and depressing news aren't making a dent in his support. Russian people have been conditioned to anticipate and desire war.

I didn't have a fallout - a few hosts repeatedly tolerated me being publicly denigrated and then engaged in the same themselves + also started harrassing me in the spaces I was co-hosting with @ndboulton. Definitely not going back - their egos are valued more than 🇺🇦 there
@cryptodrftng I've heard you speak before and I'm sorry if you had a fall out with someone. I hope you return - your Ukrainian perspective will always be valued, particularly in a space which aims to provide solidarity to Ukrainians during this horrific war.

@UkrainesGrains / @HansWorldTravls is an abuser. I have zero tolerance for this behaviour. People who support 🇺🇦 do not abuse Ukrainians like this. It's shameful and I can't believe someone acted like that after I tried to help them and all they ever saw from me was kindness.
